Best drag racing tracks in America
If you're willing to go the distance, then you'll find some great racing spots in America. These may be in far off places, but they're definitely worth it.
So here is a list of some of the great drag racing spots in the US:  
1.    Gainseville
With a capacity of 30,000 people, Gainseville's Auto Plus Raceway is one of the largest and most beautiful drag racing spots in America. Since 1969 its been one of the most popular NHRA certified tracks in the country, and home to the Gatornationals. It's the perfect place to go to for warmer weather. That's why it's one of the great drag racing spots in the US.
2.    Bristol
Located in Bristol Tennessee, this track is a huge stadium and looks like the headquarters of a large company when you come to it. The Dragway is infamous for its hot and humid weather nearly the year round. However, the track itself is nearly perfect. For most, it's an easy drive and a great experience. It was originally built in 1965 and is often called "Thunder Valley" due to the acoustics created by its location between two mountains.
3.    Maple Grove
This is as beautiful of a track that you can find today in the US. Originally opening in 1962 as a 1/5 mile track, it was lengthened to a ¼ mile NHRA track in 1964.  This drag strip is home to the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
4.    Sonoma
Sonoma Raceway, located at Sears Point in the southern Sonoma Mountains of Sonoma, California, is particularly interesting because it also houses one of the most intricate road courses in the country. Featuring 12 turns carved in the hills of Sonoma wine country and hills topping out at 160 ft of elevation, Sonoma is an awesome drag strip and racetrack.
5.    Charlotte
Charlotte Motor Speedway is located 13 miles outside of Charlotte NC. This 1.5-mile quad-oval track has hosted such events as the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 and was opened in 1960. Also featuring the ZMAX Dragway – the only all-concrete, four lane dragstrip, it’s hosted such NHRA events as the World of Outlaws.
6.    Indy

Lucas Oil Raceway is one of the most popular tracks in the country and is located about 10 miles west of Indy in the town of Brownsburg. LOR is one of the only Midwest tracks to host Top Fuel cars and is owned by the NHRA. This 4400 ft drag strip is considered to be one of the premier tracks in the world.

7.      Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is one awesome drag strip. Recently widened to 4 lanes, this track has hosted drag racing in excess of 330 mph in the ¼ mile. This NHRA certified track is host to such events as the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.

8.    Norwalk
Summit Motorsports Park located in Norwalk Ohio has been hosting NHRA events since 2007 when Summit Racing Equipment purchased the naming rights to the park. The Bader family owns this track and has been committed to giving the fans the best experience out there. That's why it's the best of the best drag racing spots in America.
